Clinton County District Attorney Andrew Wylie will hold a press conference Thursday morning to update the status of the criminal investigation into June's Dannemora prison break.

Wylie did not offer details about what will be discussed, only that the press conference will update the status of the investigation, and prosecution into persons related to the escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat, who were discovered missing from their cells on the morning of June 6.

Matt was shot and killed by police on June 26 and Sweat was captured two days later.

Prison worker Joyce Mitchell has already pleaded guilty to helping with the escape. As part of a plea deal, she faces 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison, and will be sentenced next month.

Another prison worker accused of helping with the escape, Gene Palmer, rejected a plea deal. He is also accused of providing contraband to the prisoners that they used to break out.
