Monroe County Legislator LaShay Harris, announced she's running for Adam McFadden's seat on Rochester City Council.

Harris currently represents the county's 27th district. The Democratic Committee says she'll now run for the city council's South District.

The seat is opening up after Rochester City Councilman McFadden announced this week he will not seek re-election.

McFadden is facing federal charges in connection with a fraud and money laundering scheme.

Prosecutors say he conspired with former Rochester Housing authority chair George Moses to divert money from an RHA contract for their own use.
