Several towns in the Rochester area will be hosting Memorial Day celebrations on Monday.
The town of Greece will be holding its annual Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m. The town's memorial service will follow at 11:45 a.m.
Brighton is holding a ceremony at Veterans Memorial at Buckland Park on Westfall Road at 2 p.m.
In Gates, the ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Gates Community Center on Buffalo Road. U.S. Marine Corps veteran Adrian Hale will be the guest speaker. There will also be a first colors flag raising on preserved Gates landmark flagpole.
The Ceremony of Remembrance in Penfield will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the amphitheater behind town hall. The guest speaker will be active duty naval recruiter Charlton Harley.
In Fairport, the Memorial Day ceremony will kick off at 11 a.m. at the VFW Post 8495. There will be a couple of guest speakers, along with a performance from "Harmonica" Pete DuPré.
