A father and daughter pair are taking Bedford Falls and putting it in the palm of your hand.

"I've probably seen the movie hundreds of times," said It's a Wonderful Life Lego set creator Jason Middaugh.

What You Need To Know

  • A family has made a prototype of a Lego set based on It's a Wonderful Life

  • The pieces include George Bailey's house, family, and car

  • They need 10,000 votes for Lego to consider mass producing a set

  • Seneca Falls has long been regarded as the model for the film's fictional town Bedford Falls

Jason and his daughter Jane build together with Legos.

"When dad broke out his old Lego sets, it was really fun to start playing around with and it grew into this big thing. It’s been really cool," said Jane.

Piece by piece, ordered specially online, they built the ultimate Lego kit, the set of It's a Wonderful Life.

"So we built that (tower) first and were like 'OK, if we can do the hardest part then the rest of it can come together'," said Jason.

That includes the old Granville house, the Bailey family, and even the iconic bridge.

"George has his epiphany that it really is truly a wonderful life, also we have the local connection to the bridge in Seneca Falls. So we thought you can't have It's a Wonderful Life without the bridge as well," said Jason.

Many believe Frank Capra based his fictional Bedford Falls off of the very real Seneca Falls.

"This is our one chance I think in Upstate New York to have an official Lego set of an Upstate New York landmark,' said Jason.

2021 is the 75th anniversary of the film. And their set could be considered for production by Lego, if it gets ten thousand votes. You can vote on their website to help make the Middaughs' dream come true.
