So, instead of bringing players to the banquet, the school brought the banquet to its players.

Head Coach Jeff LaFave went to players’ homes with pins, awards, and more. He surprised two of his seniors with the Gates Chili Junior Spartans Scholarship, which goes to seniors who plan to continue their athletic careers in college.

"This is great," said scholarship recipient and senior, Mitchell Harris. "I didn't think I'd ever see them until next season if I come back to see them play. But, this is a big surprise for me and I'm very grateful for all of them."

Harris said he plans to attend St. John Fisher College next school year.

Serdrick Thomas, who also received the scholarship, said he plans to attend RIT.
