Mark Zilist scored an early goal and the Penfield defense held strong in a 1-0 victory over rival Fairport.

Zilist one-timed a cross from Emre Aktas in the first ten minutes of the game for the only tally of the match for the Patriots (8-0).

Chris McLean earned the shutout in his first complete game in net for Penfield. Ben Douglass made some great saves to keep Penfield from adding to their lead for the Red Raiders (4-4).

The Patriots defense kept the Raiders from getting any chances in close on McLean, a football and baseball player who is playing varsity soccer for the first time.

Both teams have two games remaining before Sectionals.
