ROCHESTER, N.Y. — UR Medicine Orthopedics is one step closer to having its surgery center in the Marketplace Mall.

Project officials say the building design for the $240 million project is now complete.

Wilmorite is preparing to get started on construction, pending final approval from the state.

This project was announced in 2019 in an effort to create one of the largest ambulatory orthopedic campuses in the United States.

The vice president of leasing at Wilmorite says this is just the start of transforming the mall.

Some offices will open this summer.

The project is expected to be done by 2023.
