ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Students at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College took the next step toward their careers Monday.

Sixty-two students were honored at the college's annual white coat ceremony.

As members of the class of 2024, this marked the end of their first semester at the school and formally welcomed them into the pharmacy profession.

The event was postponed from the end of the fall semester until now because of the pandemic. It was just one of the many ways the pandemic has impacted the students' learning.

"We were obligated to test every single week to be on campus," said pharmacy student Karnjit Brar. "But St. John Fisher did an amazing job for us to be able to be students on campus. We had the ability to have zoom lectures if we weren't able to make it. In case some students did get COVID, they were able to participate in classes and not miss anything. We were all able to transition smoothly and the college did a phenomenal job of having us here."
