ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester City School District students are looking at ways the district can use new funding.
A youth group called Teens With Attitude addressed how they'd like to see new federal and state funding be used.
The group asked for better class selection, diverse staffing and more.
One student says a lot of those resources are already in place for the district.
"Yes, a lot of what we ask for will cost money, but a lot of what we're asking for already exists," said student Maya Waller. "If you look at curriculum, we have the curriculum, we have the people who have the knowledge to create that curriculum. We just need to use it."
Students are holding an event on May 8 at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Park called "We Won But We Ain't Done" to talk further about the budget.
