Supporters of a Spencerport High School administrator placed on leave after he was seen screaming obscenities at a recent Rochester protest. They plan to get together Tuesday evening to publicly show their support.
Assistant Principal Steve Lysenko was taking part in protests over the weekend in Rochester when he was seen on video yelling obscenities about the Rochester Police Department and police in general.
The video went viral.
The district says Lysenko, who is a tenured teacher, has been placed on administrative leave after it found his language violated the code of conduct. The district posted an apology on its website and social media after the incident. Some are calling for his removal.
The event with supporters is Tuesday at 6 p.m. coinciding with a public board meeting at the district office.
