The superintendent of the Webster Central School District is providing some new details about the district's plan to reopen.
In a letter to parents posted on the district's website Friday morning, Superintendent Carmen Gumina says right now it looks like 100 percent in-person learning is a daunting challenge, while a hybrid of in-person and online learning seems more plausible.
The district is also pushing back the first day of school to either September 9 or 10 to give teachers a few more days to prepare and plan around whatever scenario the district adopts. The district is keeping its typical school break schedule, with one change. Memorial Day weekend will be shortened to three days off, instead of four.
The district also says any day that would be considered to be a snow day this year will now become a virtual learning day.
The district is preparing to finalize its reopening plans to submit before the July 31 state deadline.
