ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police are looking for the person they say fired a shot near a home on Bernard Street that ended up hitting someone inside.

They say the 42-year-old man was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

According to police, the incident follows a rash of recent reports of stray gunfire hitting homes around Rochester. Police have reported at least 10 incidents in the last week, many narrowly avoiding people inside.

Most have been in the northeast and northwest sections of the city.
