Four people are now facing federal arson charges from the violence of the riots that followed peaceful protests in downtown Rochester on May 30.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says those involved will be held accountable.

"I think the message needs to be sent loud and clear that if you engage in this lawless behavior you will be prosecuted not only by the state authorities, if they deem it appropriate, but also the federal authorities," said James Kennedy, United States attorney for the Western District of New York.

Dyshika McFadden and Miguel Ramos of Rochester are accused of setting a Rochester police car on fire.

Mackenzie Drechsler of Wayne County allegedly burned two vehicles.

Marquis Fraiser is accused of using a Molotov cocktail to burn down a mobile construction trailer near the public safety building.

They face up to five to 20 years in prison.
