GROVELAND, N.Y. — A routine search at Groveland Correctional Facility in Livingston County turned violent.
Officials say two inmates attacked a guard while he was searching one of the inmate's living areas.
They say it took three officers to control the inmates after the unprovoked attack Saturday morning.
One officer was treated for cuts to his face and chest, and another has minor injuries.
The inmates face internal disciplinary action as well as criminal charges.
