ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A man taken into custody Tuesday morning by U.S. Marshals is a convicted murderer, wanted in connection to the killing of another person in Alabama.

Nathan Thomas was taken into custody around 10:30 a.m. as he walked along Plymouth Avenue. Thomas was wanted by the Montgomery Police Department for the April 23 shooting of a person in that city.

Marshals say Thomas has previous conviction in Alabama for murder and manslaughter.

Thomas was taken to the Monroe County Jail.
