The New York State Department of Corrections says a woman convicted in the murder of her husband in the early ‘90s should be released on parole.
Laurie Kellogg remains in custody at the Taconic Facility in Seneca County.
In 1991, she drove four teenagers from Pennsylvania to a cottage in Romulus where one of the teens shot and killed her husband, Bruce Kellogg, in his sleep.
She was convicted and the teen who pulled the trigger pleaded guilty.
The parole board says Kellogg's conduct in prison shows she is "low risk," that her performance in rehab groups has been "excellent," and she has shown "sincere remorse" for her actions.
The DOC says the earliest she could be released is mid-April after serving more than 28 years of a 25-to-life sentence.
