A driver is facing vehicular manslaughter charges following a crash that left one man dead and several others injured in Henrietta overnight.

Deputies say it happened around 11 p.m. Thursday when 22-year-old Jordin Campbell of Rochester failed to make a turn on Clay Road, between the Henrietta Walmart and the old Sam's Club.

Officials say the car hit an embankment, and slammed through a concrete barrier before coming to rest along I-390 on the other side of that barrier.

A male and female passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The man, 22-year-old Anthony Mykins, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, 21-year-old  Audrey Porter suffered what police say are critical, life-threatening injuries.

Another passenger, 20-year-old Shadman Islam suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Campbell was arraigned at Strong Memorial Hospital and remanded to the Monroe County Jail. He's set to appear back in court on January 9.

“The message out of this is clearly that after several years, law enforcement and Stop DWI programs, we continue to push the message but people are not getting the message and they're not hearing it. The dangers of drinking and driving are significant. This case is just one more example of the deadly risks of drinking and driving,” said Chief Deputy Michael Fowler, Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Along with the vehicular manslaughter charges, Campbell also faces assault and DWI charges.

Investigators say they are waiting on lab results but expect to find a mixture of alcohol and drugs in Campbell's blood work. They say there is also evidence the group had been drinking in the vehicle before it crashed into the barrier.

Both Clay Road and 390 were shutdown for more than five hours while police investigated. Both have since reopened.

Campbell was previously arrested in Geneseo for DWAI last September. He was also charged with fourth, fifth and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (for mushrooms, cocaine, and Xanax), unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful dealing with a child and an equipment violation.
