A man accused of attacking and killing his girlfriend has pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Roger Lee Wiggins is being charged in the murder of Tracy Henton Williams, a teacher and mother of two.
It was an emotional day for more than a dozen family and friends that were in the courtroom on her behalf Monday.
Wiggins, 55, was arraigned Monday on charges of second-degree murder in the death of 51-year old Tracy Henton Williams.
Gates police say on June 9, Roger Wiggins stabbed Henton-Williams several times in the chest and neck before allegedly pushing her out of a moving vehicle on Buffalo Road.
She later died at Strong Hospital.
Agents at the Canadian border stopped Wiggins’ car after matching it with a description issued by police.
He was later arrested by Gates police.
Henton-Williams was a special education teaching assistant with the Rochester City School district.
Wiggins remains in custody without bail. A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for July 23.
