GENEVA, N.Y. — Two men are under arrest following a shooting in Geneva that left a man fighting for his life at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Geneva police were called to the area of Lewis Street around  7 a.m. Sunday for a vehicle into a tree.

There they found the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Michael Cosentino had been shot several times in the head.

He was airlifted to Strong where he underwent surgery.

He is listed in critical condition.

Geneva police have arrested 26-year-old Erin Rhynes on a charge of first degree assault and 31-year-old Timetheus Merritt on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say additional charges are pending.
