WEEDSPORT, N.Y. — At least a dozen departments were called to Page Trucking Company in Weedsport Sunday afternoon to put out heavy flames, while others were standing by.

Officials say the fire started in the building where repairs are made, and it's now considered a total loss.

Crews were able to make sure the flames didn't spread to office space, and no one was inside when the fire started.

Officials say the fire caused other problems in the area.

"Especially being so close to the Thruway it garnishes a lot of attention," said Clark John, Weedsport Safety Officer. "It causes problems for them out there. Right now I don't think that's an issue, but when we first started operations, it was quite congested here because everybody had to stop and see and I know you can see the smoke as far away as Auburn."

Investigators are now looking into what started the fire.
