WOLCOTT, N.Y. — Police have made an arrest in connection to this week's fatal shooting in Geneva.
Authorities say 30-year-old Willie McKoy Jr. has been arrested and charged with murder in the second degree.
Police say McKoy Jr. shot and killed 38-year-old Pliekou Irvin Sr. around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday night while Irvin Sr. was sitting in a car near Middle and Exchange Streets in Geneva.
Irvin Sr. was taken to Geneva General Hospital where he later died.
Police say their investigation led them to a home in Wayne County, where McKoy Jr. surrendered after several hours.
McKoy was arraigned Thursday morning in Geneva City Court. He's being held on no bail currently.
The Geneva Police Department, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police all contributed in the investigation.
