The Ontario County woman convicted of killing her husband then dismembering his body is appealing her 2014 murder conviction.
Gary Muldoon, who now represents Rose Chase, says the appeal was heard in the state's Supreme Court's Appellate Division Monday.
Muldoon says Chase's murder conviction should be overturned based on two key facts: One, her confession to an Ontario County Sheriff's Office investigator was not voluntary and two, text messages between district attorney Mike Tantillo and an investigator were not brought up in his client's original trial.
Tantillo argued against the appeal.
The court could rule as early as next month.
Chase was convicted of second degree murder for the June 2011 killing of her husband Adam in the town of Seneca.
Authorities say she pushed Adam down a flight of stairs as the couple argued about her infidelity. She then hid the body in the basement for several months before dismembering and burning it at her mother's Yates County property.
Chase is currently serving 25-years to life in prison, pending the court's ruling on the appeal.
