ROCHESTER, N.Y. — New York has announced a handful of new COVD-19 testing centers across the state.
One opened on Tuesday at the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA on East Main Street in downtown Rochester.
It will offer rapid antigen testing Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The state's other new test sites are spread across 10 SUNY campuses and Syracuse University's Carrier Dome.
"We want to start the New Year strong and use every tool at our disposal," Gov. Hochul said in a statement. "By mobilizing testing sites throughout the state, we will make sure testing is more accessible and convenient for New Yorkers. We will continue to expand testing availability to every corner of the state, evaluating where more capacity and additional sites are needed soon. I encourage every New Yorker to take advantage of a site near them."
Appointments are recommended, but not required.
