PITTSFORD, N.Y. — There are now 52 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at St. John Fisher College. The number has jumped in just the last few days.
The college says two-thirds of those cases are coming from students who dorm at Dorsey Hall. Many of them are quarantined off-campus.
College officials also say wastewater testing has found an increase of the virus in all residential areas, meaning it will continue saliva testing residents to try to get ahead of any additional clusters.
Fisher remains open but is increasing some of its safety measures to stop the virus from spreading.
According to a state mandate, if a college campus reaches 100 cases, it must go to remote learning for two weeks and then reassess the situation.
