A large gathering in the village of Brockport has led to an interim suspension of SUNY Brockport’s men’s soccer team.
The decision came last night pending an investigation of potential COVID-19 policy violations.
In addition to the team’s interim suspension, six SUNY Brockport students will receive individual interim suspensions.
The college says the police department said more than 50 people got together and were not wearing masks or social distancing.
No citations were issued.
Pending the results of the investigation, the men's soccer team is not allowed to practice, workout, and hold team meetings.
College leaders saying they are disappointed and saddened the students made "potentially dangerous actions" that could jeopardize the health and safety of the community.
