Officials with the Rush-Henrietta School District say two students have tested positive for COVID-19 within the first week of classes.
District officials report those students attended Crane and Vollmer Elementary Schools on Tuesday only, before the county quarantined them and they tested positive.
The Monroe County Health Department tells the district that with masking and social distancing protocols, the department does not believe anyone at the school had "close contact" with the students and believes there is low risk. The district superintendent said in a message to parents that officials prepared for this scenario, and all schools are cleaned and disinfected each night.
Both schools will reopen Monday.
