A staff member at the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation, according to the Monroe County Commissioner of Public Health Dr. Michael Mendoza.

“At this time, none of the youth housed at the facility, nor any of the other staff, are exhibiting signs of infection. One staff member is under precautionary quarantine,” Mendoza said in a statement. “The facility has instituted increased health screenings for the youth and has notified all families. It is also consulting closely with the Department of Public Health, and is following all guidance provided to ensure the health and safety of everyone there."
