  • It is free and open to anyone

  • The group meets three times a week

Vickey Beaver started the free exercise meet-up group in 2015. She’s a southern girl embracing Rochester weather, and is looking to meet new people on the west side, stay fit and improve energy.

“It has definitely helped me enjoy winter,” Beaver said. “It has helped me make friends and as an adult sometimes that’s tough not seeing many people in the workplace because I work from home. It has definitely helped me sprout a new social network all over Monroe County.”

Most of the group is people in their mid-30s and on up. They meet Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. It’s great exercise and a good time.

“Sometimes we have a lot of fun singing as we go along. It is just fun,” said Randy Meek from Greece.

New people are always welcome to join the group.
