ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's is this Saturday at Frontier Field.
The Alzheimer's Association of Rochester hosts the event to raise money for Alzheimer's and dementia research.
To date, the event has raised a little more than $200,000.
Each participant will receive a promise garden flower, with specific colors referring to someone's relationship with the disease.
"We live in a very generous community,” said senior director of development at Alzheimer's Association Bonnie Webster. “I think it says a lot about the impact that Alzheimer's and dementia have had on the community here as a whole. People understand through their own experiences or the experiences of friends, family, co-workers what we're trying to do."
Organizers tell us the fundraising goal is $326,000.
The walk takes place at 10 a.m.
