ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A grant from ESL Credit Union hopes to provide more HOPR rental bikes and scooters.

ESL gave a grant worth $240,000 to help install eight more hubs for these bikes and scooters in Rochester neighborhoods.

For members of the local bicycle group called Roc Freedom Riders, it's about more equity through more mobility.

"We're proud to collaborate with HOPR, who has made a commitment to addressing access to more transportation and equity in cycling in neighborhoods like mine were car ownership is less,” said Rashad Smith of Roc Freedom Riders.

The hubs sponsored by ESL will be at locations like La Marketa, the Portland Avenue Rite Aid, and the Thomas Ryan Rec Center.
