SPECTRUM NEWS 1 VIDEO: The pandemic highlighted and exacerbated a number of problems Rochester residents face on a daily basis.
One of them is food insecurity.
On Wednesday, Senator Jeremy Cooney announced $50,000 in new state funding for A Meal & More, a Rochester nonprofit working to address food insecurity downtown.
“A Meal & More has served the Rochester community for over 40 years," Cooney said in a statement. "They provide meals, a safe space and a sense of community to families and children in their time of need. The work of organizations like A Meal & More are so critical to our City as one in every two children live below the federal poverty level. I am proud to have secured this funding, so that we can make downtown a more vibrant space for all our residents while addressing food insecurity in Rochester.”
