ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Seneca Park Zoo is welcoming a new addition to its family.

The zoo's four-year-old snow leopard, Timila, gave birth to a male cub on Friday.

Officials say the cub will be hand raised after an evaluation of Timila's behavior and the cub's welfare.

Zoo staff will work with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan (SSP) to identify the best opportunity for the cub.
