Spectrum News Reporter Mary McCombs has been recognized by the Rochester Police Department for her series of reports on Fallen Officers.

She was honored during a celebration of the department's 200th anniversary at Thursday afternoon in downtown Rochester. In a proclaimaition, McCombs was named an honorary reporter of the Rochester Police Department.

The series looks back at the officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty since the department was founded.

During the ceremony, McCombs thanked her colleagues for their help and support and said she tried to focus not on how the officers died, but on how they lived.
