The end of the year is as good a time as to celebrate new beginnings and the same goes for those graduating college.
Roberts Wesleyan College in Chili held its winter commencement ceremony on Saturday. Nearly 200 undergrad and graduate students walked across the stage to get their degrees.
College leaders say the sheer number of winter graduates made this become a regular event.
"We have so many students that are graduating mid-year that a few years ago we launched a mid-year graduation ceremony so that students could participate in the activity. Because if you don't do that, they don't come back," said President Deana Porterfield. "So this is a time for family and friends to come together to celebrate the graduates."
The keynote address was delivered by alumna Lauren Kolb of Tompkins Financial Advisors.
