GREECE, N.Y. — It may not be long before that package from Amazon comes from a warehouse in the Rochester area.

There’s a proposed site at 1,200 Lexington Avenue for an Amazon warehouse and distribution facility in the town of Greece.

What You Need To Know

  • Amazon is set to build a 180,000 square foot facility in the Eastman business park on Lexington Avenue

  • The warehouse will create 50 full-time and 50 part-time jobs along with some 400 construction jobs

  • The facility is slated to open next August

It's located inside Eastman Business Park, and the $50 million project is expected to create 50 full-time and 50 part-time jobs along with some 400 construction jobs.

"Despite the pandemic that we are facing, we are still recognized by many industry leaders as an ideal place to attract and grow businesses of all sizes,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.

"What does this mean for the residents of Greece? Jobs, jobs, and more jobs. Good jobs, with benefits and solid wages,” said Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich.

Reilich said the warehouse will be the last stop for the product before delivery to your doorstep. The county will offer the developer out of Buffalo a financial incentive in the form of reductions in property taxes that would be phased out over time.

The 180,000 square-foot facility is expected to be open by early August.

"We're very pleased about being able to rejuvenate this site and continue to provide jobs for the residents of Greece,” said Reilich.
