A former teacher in the Southern Tier is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a teenage student.

The Chautuaqua County Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Samanatha Dascomb and a 16-year-old student had an inappropriate relationship for about a year, starting in May 2016.

Dascomb was a teacher at the Clymer Central School District during that time. A district spokesperson says she has since resigned.

Dascomb is now charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
