If you still haven’t bought holiday gifts for children on your list, get on it - you’re running out of time. Here are some last minute, high tech suggestions.

First up, IDO3D handheld printers were around last holiday season. This year though, starting at $20, there are IDO3D Go! Sets, which let users create 3D toys themselves, yet attach them to a mechanism so that they can move.

“The set includes step by step instructions for a hippo or a shark or a triceratops or a car or a robot, or you can use your imagination and create whatever you'd like," says Desiree Rosa of RedwoodVentures.

If you have an inquisitive child, the $100 Cognitoys Dino might be a perfect companion when you are not free to answer questions. Powered partially by IBM’s supercomputer Watson, think of the Dino as kind of like a Siri for kids; they talk, he responds.

“They have general Q&A like ‘How far away is the moon?’ ‘What is the world's tallest building?’ There are games, stories, scavenger hunts all geared to be fun, friendly and educational," says Donald Coolidge of Cognitoys.

And finally, just as your home may be getting increasingly smart in 2016, so too is Barbie's. The $300 Barbie Hello Dreamhouse responds to more than 100 voice commands, allowing you to do things like open the door, light the fireplace, turn on the chandelier, ride the elevator.

Plus, there’s an app that allows you to customize sounds in each room, proving that Barbie may be 57 years old, but she is as hip and with current trends as ever.
