The Town of Hamburg is set to receive $1,172,559.72 in FEMA grants for repairs to the town park caused by the Dec. 2022 winter storm, Congressman Nick Langworthy announced Thursday.

According to FEMA, the funds will be used to repair severe damage to the town park jetty, floating dock pilings, catch basin covers and driveway. This grant will ensure these needed repairs are made and eliminate a threat to the health and safety of the public.

“I am thrilled Hamburg is receiving these needed funds to help repair their T0wn Park facilities that were damaged as a result of Winter Storm Elliott,” said Rep. Langworthy. “Winter Storm Elliott devasted communities across Western New York and the Southern Tier and I will continue to work non-stop with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and with federal officials to get resources back to NY-23.”

The FEMA grant funds were authorized under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.
