Western New York veteran's organizations will be honoring America's veterans this Memorial Day weekend.

Monday morning, the Erie County American Legion will be hosting a ceremony at the American Legion Monument just inside the Forest Lawn Cemetery Main Street entrance beginning at 9 a.m. 

Monday afternoon, the Town of Amherst Veterans Committee will hold its Memorial Day ceremony at the Williamsville cemetery at 1 p.m.

The ceremonies will feature the playing of Taps and the planting of American flags at the graves of veterans.

Lackawanna also hosted an annual Memorial Day ceremony Sunday morning to honor and remember the city's military heroes.

This year's event is hosted by American Legion Post 63.

Also happening Monday, the towns of Grand Island, Amherst and West Seneca will all be hosting ceremonies.

In addition to the ceremonies, West Seneca and Kenmore will be hosting parades on Monday.

Olympic artistic swimmer and four-time World championship medalist Anita Alvarez will be the grand marshal in Kenmore.
