NEW YORK - Firefighters are looking into the cause of a three-alarm fire in Manhattan late Wednesday night.
It broke out around 11:30 p.m. at an apartment building located at 130 Jane Street in Greenwich Village.
Firefighters say it took about two hours to get the flames under control.
"The fire started on the fourth floor, in duct work in the ceiling. And it got into the walls, communicated to the fifth and sixth floors, and got into the alcove of the roof," said FDNY Deputy Chief Joseph Schiralli.
Eight apartments were evacuated.
No injuries were reported.
