The $4 billion renovation of LaGuardia Airport is getting underway today, but it comes with the closing of one of the airport's main parking lots.
The Port Authority has closed Lot P3.
Travelers can still use Lots P2, P4, and P5 for now.
However, P2 is set to close next month.
A new long-term lot called P10 will open on July 1.
Passengers can take free shuttle buses from the lot to the main terminals.
The LaGuardia overhaul includes replacing the current terminals with a more unified hub and nearly two extra miles of space for airplanes to taxi.
