NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- More than one hundred Sears employees in Oneida County will be losing their jobs.

The store and auto center in Sangertown Square in New Hartford will be closing this summer.

Store officials said the closure is due to reductions in expenses, and to accelerate a transformation of their business model.

Affected employees may receive severance and will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at other area Sears or K-Mart stores.

The Auto Center will close in May, while the rest of the store will shut its doors in July.
