OLEAN, N.Y. -- Olean-based KA-BAR has a long standing connection with providing knives to the U.S. military and now has aconnection with Hollywood.
Navy Seals have a tradition of being presented with a KA-BAR knife at the end of their training with the name of a fallen Seal member engraved in it.
Producers of the blockbuster "American Sniper" used the knives in the movie, which KA-BAR donated. They also borrowed the Seals' tradition and gave a commemorative knife to the cast and crew.
"I went out to the set, and it was in this very small town, it was very close quarters and so I got to spend a lot of time with Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, and it was a great experience," said Joseph Bradley, KA-BAR sales and marketing.
KA-BAR knives are also featured in TV shows like "The Walking Dead" and in the new Terminator movie coming out this summer.
