You don't have to travel all the way to Italy to have a fantastic Italian meal. You just have to get to one Newburgh eatery, Il Cenacolo, that focuses on a particular part of the country for their cuisine.
"We've been here 29 years since 1988. It's Northern Italian Tuscan cuisine. It's just like Tuscany, yes," said Sali, the owner and head chef.
The restaurant's ambiance is also reflected in its décor and food.
"Northern Italian, Tuscan cuisine is elegance. It's a lot of herbs and fresh ingredients. We use it in a lot of great dishes like great veals, fresh fish, also excellent pastas too," said Hadzi.
Whether ordering from their extensive menu or one of their daily specials, you're bound to find something to whet the appetite.
"We have antipasti, Mistro terra on the front. Prosciutto, salami, scapollini. Also we have goat cheese, fresh goat cheese with fresh herbs and garlic. Also smoked salmon in front, smoked trout, and also Portugese sardines with caramelized onions it's a great dish. Everything is done by hand," said Hadzi.
And the staff hopes that you'll leave remembering more than just a good meal, but a great experience.
"To remember great food, fresh and great quality. To remember a great restaurant in Newburgh, Hudson Valley. Love the customers and the customers love us," said Hadzi.
