Heather Morrison is a meteorologist for Spectrum News 1 Albany, where she’s worked since 2002. She was born and raised in Rensselaer County, NY, only a few miles from downtown Albany. Growing up, Heather enjoyed being a part of a tight-knit community where she saw her neighbors frequently and participated in many sports and clubs. She's always been enthralled by weather and science and knew from a young age that she would one day work in the media industry.

Heather has covered all sorts of storms, from severe thunderstorms and tornadoes to blizzards and floods. In addition to forecasting weather in New York State, she’s also helped out at our NY1 channel for several years. In 2021, her reporting earned her an Emmy Award for best morning newscast.

Heather loves her Spectrum News colleagues and has enjoyed seeing the company grow into a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art organization powered by a network of experts across multiple platforms. She looks forward to working here for years to come.

When she’s not reporting, Heather loves to work on radio programs and watch live music. She also loves the outdoors, especially the Adirondack Mountains and the fresh air of the Northeast.
