The Cornwall Dragons took home the Class A championship after defeating the Carthage Comets 30-27 on Friday inside the Carrier Dome.

It was a back-and-forth game for all four quarters. Carthage jumped out to an early 14-3 lead in the first quarter. The Comets extended the lead to 21-9 after a 48-yeard touchdown reception by Carter Kempney. The Dragons cut the lead to 21-16 going into the half after a Louie Francese touchdown run.

 

 

 

After giving up the lead in the third quarter, Comets receiver Thomas Albright scored on a 67-yard touchdown pass to give the lead back to Carthage in the third.

 

 

 

Midway through the fourth quarter, Dragons running back Amin Woods scored his third touchdown of the game on a 16-yard run, which ended up being the game winning touchdown.
