Arin Cotel-Altman joined Spectrum News 1 as a videojournalist in 2019 after earning bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism and theater from SUNY Plattsburgh.
For Arin, journalism is all about sharing the stories that matter most in the community and showcasing the selfless people who go above and beyond to make this world a better place. She has told stories that are significant and historic, including complete coverage of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary weekend in Bethel, and a three-part series on the volunteer EMS crisis directly affecting the Hudson Valley. The people in this community inspire her each day, and she appreciates the privilege of telling the stories of people truly making a difference.
She loves the hustle and bustle of living in the state capital, and the scenery of the Adirondacks, which has some of the best hiking in the country. And as a big music fan, she’s always on the lookout for a local concert to catch. In the rare moments when Arin isn’t out and about in the community, you can find her relaxing at home with her dog Roxy.
