Jackson Wang is a multimedia journalist for Spectrum News 1 New York, based out of Albany.
Born in Hong Kong but raised in Rotterdam, New York, Jackson Wang has been a member of the Capital Region community since he was three years old. Jackson kicked off his stint with Spectrum News after graduating from the College of Saint Rose in 2014.
This three-time Associated Press Award winner, Syracuse Press Club First Place Recipient, and New York Emmy Nominee has covered hundreds of meaningful stories as a general assignment news reporter that he holds close to his heart. The few that stick out to him the most are stories covering the several municipalities that struggled with contaminated water. For Jackson, these are the stories he always hopes to be able to shine a light on, to hold those responsible accountable, and, in turn, create real, positive change for those affected.
After gaining experience as a news assistant behind the camera, Jackson’s passion for reporting brought him to his current position in which he shares stories with his community daily.
When Jackson isn’t reporting, you can find him dedicating time to health and fitness, traveling, or officiating football games. Whether through informing his audience about the latest news or informing those around him the best way to improve their health, Jackson is dedicated to motivating those in his life to reach their full potential.
