Leaders in Saratoga County unveiled their 2023 budget and it comes with a property tax cut.

The proposal includes a 5% decrease in the tax rate.

It also cuts government spending by a little more than $3 million.

The county is also proposing to invest $53 million into different public safety initiatives.

It includes money for new personnel, technology and equipment for different county offices.

About $25,000 will be spent to expand its EMT Career Pathway Program countywide in an effort to recruit more first responders. 

About $600,000 is also earmarked to promote economic development and tourism.
