PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Anthony Emmanuel Labrador-Sierra, the 24-year-old Venezuelan man officials say posed as a teen at an Ohio high school is being charged with crimes including illegal possession of a firearm and lying on immigration forms.

This is according to a criminal complaint and affidavit, per a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio. He could face decades in prison if convicted.

“Labrador-Sierra is also alleged to have submitted false material information to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services about his date of birth in connection with applications for Temporary Protective Status and Employment Authorization Documents in 2024 and 2025,” the release reads.

It also alleged that he did “not have lawful status to purchase, own or possess a firearm” and that he gave false information on an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) form to buy one, a Taurus 9mm, semiautomatic pistol.

He could face time for the following alleged crimes:

  • Possession of a firearm by an alien – up to 15 years
  • Making a false statement during the purchase of a firearm – up to 10 years
  • Using false documents – up to five years

“A criminal complaint is merely an allegation,” the release reads. “The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
